This was an old mosque outside of Al-Khor city...the inside pulpit and the minaret...
This is a wall from an old deserted Qatari village where the original homes were made of limestone and mud mortar - you can see the stacking pattern

Qatar Villagio Mall
For everyone back home wondering what the inside of a mall looks like in the Middle East. I took a few pictures inside the new Villagio Mall in Doha, Qatar. The mall looks like that mall at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas or an Atlantic City knock-off. There is a waterway inside the mall and you can take a ride on a gondola like in Venice. Obviously, not all the malls here are fashioned after Venice or Caesars Palace, but they are very nice and filled with designer stores from all over Europe and the US, as well as, stores with the latest designer abayah fashions and designer dishdasha fabrics. You may also notice in the photo the wide range of dress and appearance - not everyone here wears an abayah or dishdasha. Although, I was told that they do call the dishdasha a thawb in Qatar. Enjoy...
